BEAUCARNEA

Beaucarnea is a genus with nine angiosperm plant species, belonging to the Ruscaceae family, native to Mexico, Belize, and Guatemala.

Although it has different names, it is usually called "elephant's foot" or "ponytail palm". Said spice is used ornamentally, and even, in some countries its flowers are edible. In addition, some investigations have considered it as a possible precursor of steroidal hormones. The species are tropical xerophytes that reach 6 to 10 meters in height, with a trunk of 20cm to 4m in diameter.
